Day 20

Welcome to Day 20 of the 40day180!

Are God’s ways and thoughts my ways and thoughts based on Isaiah 55:8-9? How do I find the things of God based on 1 Corinthians 2:9-10? (hint: love = obey (see John 14:15))

Through our love for God and our obedience to God’s Word, we are then able to find and walk in the plan God has for us. God has a good plan for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11) and we find this plan through our obedience to His Word (John 14:21). Choose to do the Word of God in all circumstances. When we are shown hate, respond in love (Romans 13:8). Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil by doing good (Romans 12:21). When we do the Word of God, we stay in connection to God and others will see Christ in us (Matthew 5:15-16). This is how we push back the darkness in our own lives and also in the people around us (John 1:4-5).

1 Corinthians 2:6-16

We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him— 10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. 14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments,16 for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

Psalm 119:133 – Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.

John 14:21 – Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

I choose to seek God first everyday by getting into His Word. I choose to walk in the plan God has for me by choosing to live the Word of God in every area of my life. I thank You Father that as I choose to obey Your Word, You are protecting me, directing my footsteps according to Your Word, and filling me with Your Holy Spirit.
