Day 32
Welcome to Day 32 of the 40day180!
Based on Mark 11:23-24, what does the Word say you need to do to the mountains in your lives?
You must speak to the mountains in your life in order to be set free from sin. Mark 11:23-24 says you must believe and proclaim that the mountain “of sin” in your life are gone. James 3:4-5 says that our tongue is like the rudder of a ship. If you want to be set free, you must speak and proclaim the Word; that you are more than a conqueror and that you are free from sin, Romans 8:37. Romans 4:17 says that our God is a God that calls things which do not currently exist into being. In Genesis 1:2-3, we see that God looked out into the earth and saw there was great darkness. He then spoke to the darkness and created light. John 1:4-5 says the darkness has not overcome the light. When you speak the Word, the darkness flees. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 says that we are to take every thought captive and make them obedient to Christ (the Word). This is how we obtain freedom from sin. When you are tempted, you must stand firm on the Word of God and choose to SPEAK to the thoughts the enemy may be whispering in your ear. This is what 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 refers to. You must take all thoughts, not in alignment with the Word of God captive and make them obedient to Christ by speaking His Word. I encourage you to prepare yourself in your prayer closets and build yourselves up in the most Holy Faith by taking authority over the enemy and speaking the Word to ward off temptations that may come your way, (Jude 1:20).
James 4:1-12
1 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? 2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. 4 You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us? 6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” 7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. 11 Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. 12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?
2 Corinthians 10:3-6
3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 6 And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.
James 4:7 – Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 – 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
This week we encourage you to overcome sin in your life. Be praying and thinking of at least one sin in your life that you know you need to overcome. Decide to overcome this sin by the steps discussed this week by using the Word of God.
- (Week 1) I choose to seek God first everyday by getting into His Word.
- (Week 2) I choose to seek God first everyday by getting into His Word. I choose to walk in the plan God has for me by choosing to live the Word of God in every area of my life.
